Jio becomes largest network globally with 16,000 TB per day traffic
Jio seems to be on the roll to become the world’s largest network in terms of data usage according to Credit Suisse estimates. The daily traffic of jio is well beyond some of the most widely used network providers. The estimates show jio is ahead of china mobile (12,000 TB) and Vodafone global (6,000 TB), Bharti, and China unicorn with respect to daily traffic.
Credit Suisse findings are based on Jio’s recently announcement of 16 million subscribers as of 30 September with each user consuming 1GB data per day.
The agency said that the 16,000 TB data per day traffic also makes Jio traffic 4.2x larger than Bharti + Idea + Vodafone India combined.
“Of course, this is all understandable given the free offering. Real demand will get tested only once charges start applying,” Credit Suisse said.
It is also rumored that jio will be extending their welcome offer for 3 more months that is until March 2017.
