A Twitter user, Tanvir Sadiq, posted photos of a burned Lyf phone on the microblogging website. Sadiq said that the phone “exploded and burst into flames”. The photos show a phone’s rear panel, whatever remains of it, and Lyf branding is also visible. While the phone’s model is not yet known, the company quickly responded to Sadiq’s complaint and said that it is investigating the issue.
“LYF range of phones are designed and manufactured with global standards by some of the world’s leading manufacturers of mobile phones. Each phone goes through a stringent quality control process.
“We are concerned about the incident reported in social media and are taking the matter seriously. We are assessing the cause and will conduct a thorough investigation in the matter. Customer safety is paramount to us and, based on our findings, we will take appropriate action,” a Lyf spokesperson reported.
@tanvirsadiq As discussed we are investigating on this. We will get back to you with further updates – Sampada

This was the official response to Tanvir Sadiq’s post. Time will only tell how and why the phone bursted into flames. One of the most common reasons is using low quality third-party chargers, there could be any number of reasons for this and we will update our post once the official reason is known.
